Our Natural Sisal
Throughout these pages, we use the word "sisal" as a generic term for all types of natural plant fiber floor coverings, including seagrass, hemp, jute, coir, paper and, of course, sisal. For years we've been offering the highest quality sisal floor coverings by Merida Meridian. They offer nearly 50 different weaves (many imported from Europe), plus top-of-the-line options such as hand-sewn mitered corners, blind-stitched binding application and premium binding materials like leather and suede. This collection is a great choice if you need an unusual shape or plan to use your rug in a formal setting.
Our Everyday Sisal offers plenty of selection too, but because the material is imported from Asia, the cost is much lower. (Finished area rugs are still custom made to order in our U.S. factory.) Bindings are top-stiched rather than blind-stitched, and mitered corners are not an option.
