Our Synthetic Sisal

Natural sisal and seagrass are great, but they won't stand up to humidity or the elements. Basically, if there's a chance water or moisture will come into contact with your rug, you need to use a synthetic. Click an image at left for more information.

Indoor/Outdoor Woven Vinyl (Tec, Heather and Synthesis)

Tec, our newest woven vinyl, is produced in Belgium and available in 60 different weave/colors. Heather and Synthesis are woven vinyl weaves from the same manufacturer in Finland; the only difference is the weave style. All are hard-wearing, impervious to moisture and highly fade-resistant, so they're an excellent choice indoors or out.

Indoor Woven Vinyl (Bolon)

Another Scandinavian import, Bolon is a flat-woven vinyl that's ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, basements or anywhere exposed to moisture or spills. Plus, it comes in a fabulous range of colors and patterns. Recommended for indoor use only.

Outdoor Synthetic Sisal (Anywhere)

If the look you're after is "imitation sisal," with lots of shade variation and chunky texture, then take a look at Anywhere. Its boucle-style weave mimics the look of our natural sisals--but because it's impervious to moisture and UV-resistant, you can use it outdoors.

Indoor Synthetic Sisal (Venice & Bruges)

Our Indoor Synthetic Sisal is made of 100% nylon. Soft under foot and easy to maintain, These weaves are a great alternative to natural sisal, and can be bound with any of our "everyday" binding options. They also wear exceptionally well and resist moisture, stains, bacteria and mildew, so they will wear better in high traffic or high maintenance areas than natural sisal would.
