At a recent trade show, my buying team was hunting for new looks when they spotted plaid woven wool carpet samples scattered under a table. We asked if this was something available to us. The vendor, whom we currently buy other lines from, said “of course.”
We currently have a very limited selection of plaids on our site and sell them relatively well, so we decided to expand the category by adding the new line. Appropriately named, Kilt, this plaid woven wool carpet is of luxury quality. Kilt blends 80% British Wool with 20% Nylon. It’s a woven 8 row Axminster with a heavy commercial quality. Axminster is a specific way to weave patterns with a cut pile and with a design of many colors.
All production of Kilt is done in Scotland and takes about 6 weeks to complete. We love all of the traditional Scottish plaids because each tartan has a family crest and clan story. Researching the meaning of each weave color pattern was quite fascinating. This particular woven wool weave feels soft to the touch and plush underfoot. We recommended it for indoor use only. The look of this weave will give any room a warm classic feel and add texture.
